A SPECTRUM OF METHODS, techniques, and narratives employed and explored by Black women printmakers is on view at Claire Oliver Gallery in New York. “A Contemporary Black Matriarchal Lineage in Printmaking” showcases 21 works by nine contemporary printmakers: Tanekeya Word, Delita Martin, Ann Johnson, LaToya M. Hobbs, Lisa Hunt, Karen J. Revis, Chloe Alexander, Sam Vernon and Stephanie Santana. Closing today, the exhibition is co-curated by two participating artists. Word of Milwaukee, Wisc., is the founder of Black Women of Print, a platform for supporting and promoting the work of mid-career, Black female printmakers. A founding member of Black Women of Print, Huffman, Texas-based Martin is the founder of Black Box Press. CT
